Chief  -  2010 blue roan stallion
Chief is a true blue roan without any white markings and four strong black feet. He is very nice put together and stands 13.3 hands this Spring, probably maturing around 15.1 hands.
Chief is halter broke and has been messed with somewhat, he is very people friendly and learns quick. He will be worked with as weather permits to get him ready for saddle training (last update: March 24, 2012).
His dam is a cutting/working cow bred broodmare, his sire was a lovesick stallion, unfortunately unknown. He will be gelded in May when the vet comes out to work on several stud colts at the ranch. However, he does not act studdy and is easy to work with.

This colt is located in North East Wyoming close to Devils Tower.

March 2012 - introducing scary stuff and a bit

Work time from entering the round pen to stepping on the tarp: 5 minutes. He didn't mind the tarp on the ground at all. Work time from there until he had the tarp on his back and felt comfortable with it: 12 minutes. Chief is not the most laid back or lazy horse I've ever worked with, but he loves to please and seems to be very smart, picks up on things extremly quick and sticks to what he has learned.
